TG Baynes Raises £4,395.00 in Support of Will Aid

TG Baynes has once again participated in Will Aid; the UK's most enduring and successful charity Will-making scheme with campaigns running in November each year.

This year, the TG Baynes’ contribution reached £4,395.00 making the firm the 8th highest contributor in England for 2008.

The objective of the campaign is simple but compelling: to encourage people to make a Will with a solicitor and at the same time raise vital funds for the Will Aid charities: ActionAid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Help the Aged, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sightsavers International, SCIAF and Trocaire. During the Will Aid campaign, instead of taking their usual fees of £161.00 for a single will, or £230.00 for a mirror (couples’ will), TG Baynes provides wills for free whist inviting clients to make a donation to the charity.

Andrew Robertson, Head of Wills & Probate at TG Baynes says, "Will Aid is only possible with the support of the public. Making a Will and keeping it up to date is the best way to ensure your family and dependants experience the minimum of problems in the event of your death,

In particular, you should create or review your will if:- you lose a family member, you receive an inheritance, you retire, you move house, you become a parent or grandparent. Only by making a Will can you be confident your estate passes to those you want to benefit such as your family and friends. If you have children under eighteen, the appointment of guardians to care for them is also essential." You should also consider whether there are any special items you would want particular people to have. If you have special wishes about a burial or cremation your will is the safest way of recording them.

A will is a key element in financial and tax planning. Arranging your affairs properly in your will can substantially mitigate your Inheritance Tax liability and so ease the burden to your family.

If you own your own business a will can ensure a smooth transition of its ownership or sale after your death - vital in ensuring its continued success in the hands of its successors.
