Hair Transplant Errors Compensation
What is a Hair Transplant?
Hair transplants are increasingly becoming more common in the UK. It is a procedure in which hair from the back or side of the head is moved to the top of the scalp.
After the transplant, it is quite normal for your scalp to be sore and it is likely that you may need to take medications afterwards including painkillers, antibiotics or anti-inflammatories.
The newly transplanted hair will fall out two to three weeks after the transplant as this ensures that there is room for the new hair to come through. As with any procedure, there are side effects, which are typically minor and include:
• some bleeding,
• the possibility of infection,
• some swelling to the transplant site
• some bruising
How can negligence cause issues with or after my Hair Transplant?
In the vast majority of cases, a Hair Transplant is performed successfully, and the results are clear to see in some months after the procedure.
However, there are occasions where the procedure is not completed correctly due to negligence – it could be that the surgeon is inexperienced in doing the transplant, or maybe that something went wrong that wasn’t accounted for in your pre-assessment.
This negligence can lead to a transplant that is not successful, and as a result, any minor side effects may become more severe, including more noticeable areas of scarring and the possibility of the new follicles and hair falling out.
What do I do if I believe I have been a victim of negligence?
As a result of the negligence you have experienced after your Hair Transplant, you are probably going to be feeling angry and upset, especially as you would have likely taken the time to research the surgeon and the company you have used extensively. Adding to this, you may also be in pain and need to undergo even more treatment to rectify the issues.
